Suddenly, a familiar figure appeared in Zheng Weiqian’s sight.
At the door, Fang Yan came in holding Fang Rui's hand. They are talking and laughing.
The bar’s lights are dimly flashing but the music is relatively soft. Men and women are dancing and embracing each other on the dance floor but it is not too inappropriate. She feels that this bar’s quality is good and it looks like the place that could settle the mood.
“No, no, my friend told me about it.” Fang Rui explained. If she found out that he had been following her for a year, the results would not be good.
“Really?” Fang Yan eyed him suspiciously.
“Yes. Of course, how else will I know.” Fang Rui said absolutely.]
“Ai! I never thought you had friends in Shanghai.” Fang Yan pretended to be surprised and then smiled, “ Ok, I’ll pretend that this is your first time here. Then today is your treat.” She pulled him to the bar.
This girl can frighten someone. Fang Rui sighed in his heart and let her pull him to the bar.
Fang Yan swept a glance around the bar counter, trying to find a quiet corner and then suddenly met a pair of deep eyes. It seems like Shanghai isn’t a big place after all as she encountered him just like this. She pulled Fang Rui and said to his ears, “Ge, let’s not drink today. Let’s go drink tea, the U.S. definitely doesn’t have the best quality tea than they do here.”
“Really? But today I want to drink alcohol. What to do.” Fang Rui helplessly said.
“You’re doing this on purpose,” Fang Yan is for sure that he is trying to contradict her.
“You’re not going to say hello?” Yes, Fang Rui also spotted Zheng Weiqian.
“I’m not familiar with him, let’s go.” She really doesn’t want to have any involvement with him. He is not someone that she can provoke. Fang Yan tried pulled Fang Rui out.
“President Fang, you just came and now you are going to leave?” Out of nowhere, Zheng Weiqian appeared behind them. His cold voice has no hint of warmth.
“President Zheng, what a coincidence. Didn’t expect to see you here in Shanghai. It really is a small world, hehe.” Fang Rui laughed. He can see that Zheng Weiqian doesn’t have much of a liking towards him.
“Yes ah, since President Fang is already here, why don’t we have a drink?” Zheng Weiqian innocently smiled.
“Yanyan, why don’t we have a drink before leaving?” Fang Rui deliberately asked Fang Yan.
“Alright.” Fang Yan clenched her teeth and followed him to where he was sitting at earlier. She courteously nodded her head at Lin Yifan in greeting.
“Get me a glass of whiskey and her a glass of wine.” Fang Rui told the server.
‘Also calls her Yanyan and act so intimately. They only saw each other once and they are already going to a bar together. She’s not even afraid of being cheated over and trust people so easily. Is a bar a place a woman could frequent? This damn woman.’ Zheng Weiqian angrily thought.
“So Miss Fang and President Fang are familiar with each other ah. Don’t know if Fangshi will give Yinglun some face and to build a partnership?” Zheng Weiqian strongly suppressed his anger and said.
“President Zheng, what do you mean?” Yanyan and his relationship have already reached to his extent? Fang Rui laughed and said into Fang Yan’s ear, “I don’t seem to understand what he is saying, is it what I think it is?”
“Does President Fang not know that Miss Fang Yan is a staff at Yinglun?” Zheng Weiqian intentionally asked. He didn’t realize that his words were like a bomb that exploded in their face.
How did he find out? Did he investigate? Fang Yan stared at Zheng Weiqian with wide eyes.
What? This girl is working at Yinglun International? Just what is she thinking! If she wants to work then shouldn’t she come work for him!
“Really? Then we will take a ‘good look’ at your proposal.” Fang Rui looked at Fang Yan and evilly laughed, giving her a good look.
“This time I really receive an advantage through Miss Fang.” Zheng Weiqian ridiculed.
Fang Yan unhappily stared at Fang Rui with an expression that said ‘I will remember this.’
Fang Rui avoided his sister’s gaze and pretended that he didn’t see it at all. Thankfully, the server arrived in time for their drinks.
“Weiqian, you’re not going to introduce us?” Lin Yifan tried to break the awkward atmosphere.
“This is the new president of Fangshi’s Hong Kong office, President Fang. This is LinsGroup’s newly appointed general manager, Lin Yifan.” Zheng Weiqian introduced.
Fang Yan and Fang Rui froze, this is Lin Group’s heir! Lin family’s people!
“So it is President Fang. I looked forward to meeting you.” Lin Yifan politely stretch out his hand.
“Nice to meet you.” Fang Rui politely said without showing too much emotion.
“Lin Group, Lin Group.” Lin Group, these two words left Fang Yan unable to breathe. She knew she shouldn’t have gotten involved with Zheng Weiqian.
“Miss Fang.” Lin Yifan’s outstretched hand stilled in the air. He doesn’t know why she would have such a reaction when she heard Lin Group.
Fang Yan looked at Lin Yifan, she didn’t say anything or stretch out her hand. After a moment she turned to Fang Rui, “I want to go back.” She didn’t wait for them to reply before getting up and walked out.
Clearly knowing why she would act like that, Fang Rui apologize to them, “Excuse me.” And then chased after Fang Yan.
“She is...?” Lin Yifan doesn’t know what he did to provoke the stray cat. He didn’t say anything wrong.
“Don’t know.” Zheng Weiqian doesn’t understand why this woman changed. He is clearly puzzled.
Outside the bar, Fang Rui chased after Fang Yan.
“Yanyan.”
Fang Yan continued to walk quickly, showing no intention to stop.
“Yanyan.” Fang Rui grabbed his sister, forcing her to stop.
“Don’t say it okay?” Her mind is in a mess right now. She leaned against the railing of the Waitan, trying to ease her emotions.
Fang Rui accompanied her for a long time. “Let’s go. I’ll send you back.”
“Ge, thank you.” Thank you for not saying anything and accompanying me.
“You know that I’m your brother so why are you saying thank you.” Fang Rui rubbed her head like a little child.
“I’m not a kid anymore.” Fang Yan complained.
“Yes, Yanyan has grown up, there are even men courting you now.” Thinking about Zheng Weiqian’s anger and his failed attempt at hiding it, Fang Rui couldn’t help but laugh.
“What nonsense are you talking about.”
“Alright, alright, if you say there isn’t then there isn’t. Hehe.” Fang Rui laughed.
“Oh right, Uncle Hao will be coming to Shanghai next month to prepare the Shanghai branch.” Fang Rui suddenly thought.
“Daddy is coming? Then what about the U.S.?” Could it be that he wants to run both sides? Wouldn’t that be tiring?
“The U.S. office is very stable at the moment, as long as he occasionally goes back, there wouldn't be a problem. The main reason Uncle Hao is coming back is because of you. The number of times that we have seen each other these past eight years can be counted with both hands. Also, the last time we met, it was in a hurry. So, rather than wait for you to come back, it would be better to just move here.” What he said is correct. After she left the U.S. she only went several times. Their last encounter at the party was accidental so it is no wonder Uncle Hao wants to settle here.
“I….am a really terrible person.” She knows that what Fang Rui said is true. She really isn’t a filial daughter.
“Don’t blame yourself. When Uncle Hao comes, remember to accompany him more.”
“En, I will.” Fang Yan nodded in assurance.
“Let’s go, I’ll send you back.”
Inside the bar.
“She’s the stray cat.” It was a statement.
“En.” Zheng Weiqian nodded.
“You can see that her eyes aren’t the same.”
“You're mental.” Zheng Weiqian moodily glared at him.
“She’s your staff, this doesn’t seem like your style.” Lin Yifan ignored his glare and continued. “
“I also just found out that she worked at Yinglun today. I just never thought that she would be so close to Fangshi’s Fang Rui.” They only knew each other for a few days, damn. Whenever Zheng Weiqian thinks about them, his heart feels unhappy.
“Their relationship is not normal, but it is not the type of relationship that you are thinking.” The way they look at each other isn’t like those intimate relationships, it’s like…..it’s like…..he isn’t so sure. Anyway, it doesn’t feel right.
“No.” Zheng Weiqian sneered, “They only knew each other for a few days, and they came to the bar.”
“Recently met?” But it doesn’t look like they just recently met.
“At Fangshi’s anniversary party.” Zheng Weiqian didn’t realize that his voice has some sourness to it.
“Really?” Lin Yifan looked at him funny.
“What’s with your expression?” Zheng Weiqian felt uncomfortable.
“Hehe, nothing.” Lin Yifan smiled, “Let’s go back.”
