Precisely In Love With You: Chapter 25

Zheng Weiqian stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows in his office, overlooking the red sunset. He doesn’t know when was the last time he stood like this and enjoy the sunset. Before, he would give himself a holiday and go to the small town to visit his granny for a few days. Although he did not neglect his work while he was there, the town’s environment and atmosphere help him relax. Now that his granny is here, he doesn’t have a good excuse to unwind.

Shanghai is a fast-paced city, once you slow down for a long time, then you’ll be drowned out by a tide of people. The same could be said of the mall. How many companies are staring at the “prey” in your hands, waiting to get their hands on it? So, he would always remind himself never to slow down or he will be drowned out by others. He also learned to hide his emotions and not let anyone try to influence him, even his feelings.

After he finished relaxing, Zheng Weiqian retracted his gaze and went back to his seat to continue looking over the meeting report.

The time past slowly until the starry night sky replaced the gorgeous sunset. The only thing that didn’t change is the man sitting on the desk, seriously working.

Ring…..ring….

The crisp sound of the phone ringing broke the silence in the room and also pulled the man from his work.

“Hello, mom?” Zheng Weiqian picked up the call, his voice carried a trace of fatigue.

“Weiqian, where are you? Are you still in the company? Didn’t I tell you yesterday that today is Granny’s birthday so you have to come home early?” Zhang Haiying’s voice came from the other side.

Zheng Weiqian recalled yesterday’s memory, his mother did confirm with him to come back home early for Granny’s birthday. Because Granny likes quiet, the entire family decided to have a small family meal together. Also, it seems that Xiao Ya gave him a call before getting off work to tell him to come home early.

Vexed, Zheng Weiqian rubbed the space between his eyebrows, “I’ll immediately come back.” How could he have forgotten about it?

He put away his documents as well as bring to ones he hasn’t finished reading.

When he drove out of the garage, he happened to see Fang Yan anxiously standing in the front of the company trying to hail a taxi.

Zheng Weiqian look at the woman waving her hand but didn’t drive forward. In the past, he would definitely drive forward but now, it seems like there is no need. He withdrew his gaze and continued to drive. When he passed by Fang Yan, he didn’t stop or look at her as he drove past her.

When she saw the car drive farther away, Fang Yan felt disappointed and frustrated. Didn’t he see her earlier? She looked away. Since the opportunity to get a free ride is gone, she accepted her fate as she tried to hail a cab.

When she received Granny’s call inviting her to come over to celebrate her birthday, she came out of the company and tried to catch a cab. Suddenly she saw Zheng Weiqian’s car come out. She wanted to ask him to go together but she didn’t expect him to treat her so coldly and pretended not to see her.

Zheng Weiqian entered the house and saw that everyone is happily chatting in the living room, creating a lively atmosphere.

“I’m sorry Granny, I completely forgot. It won’t happen again.” He put down his suitcase and to the initiative to admit his mistake.

“Let’s eat, we made Granny wait too long.” Not wanting to discuss his affairs, Zheng Weiqian changed the topic, “Auntie Wang, let’s start.”

“Wait a minute, there is still someone who hasn’t arrived.” The old madame stopped.

“There’s someone else?” Zheng Weiqian suspiciously asked, “Isn’t it just us family?” What large person still hasn’t arrived/

At this time, the doorbell rang. Not long after, Fang Yan came in carrying a big smile on her face as she greeted everyone. The old madame happily pulled her into the house.

Zheng Weiqian didn’t think that Granny would call her over to eat. So the reason why she was anxiously trying to hail a taxi was to come here.

“I didn’t know today is Granny’s birthday so I didn’t prepare a gift.” Fang Yan embarrassedly said.

“I didn’t ask you to come to get a gift. I’m already happy that you came over to accompany me.” The old madame patted her hand.

When he heard Fang Yan speak, Zheng Weiqian suddenly remembered that he also hasn’t prepared a gift for Granny.

“Everyone’s here, Auntie Wang, serve the meal.” The head of the family Zheng Jialun said.

“Yes ah, mom, let’s eat first and then talk.” Zhang Haiying supported the old madame’s arm to the dining room.

Fang Yan turned to go to the dining room but accidentally met Zheng Weiqian’s eyes. She wanted to say hello but didn’t expect that he would ignore her and walk into the dining room.

Fang Yan is sensitive so she could definitely feel his cold attitude the entire night which is different from before where they would bicker when they greet each other. Today, he obviously saw her but he still turned a blind eye and drove away from her. And now, ever since she entered the house, he hasn’t greeted her or even gave her a smile. However, this type of alienation makes her feel uncomfortable and she doesn’t know why.

Although the dishes were the same as any other day, the atmosphere is quite good. After dinner, as usual, Old Madame Zheng pulled Fang Yan over to chat. Also, because today is also her birthday, she asked everyone else to accompany her, occasionally inserting a few words.

The beautiful moments are always short, so unbeknownst to them, the night became later and it is also time for Fang Yan to bid farewell. The old madame doesn’t feel at ease having Fang Yan go home alone so she asked Zheng Weiqian to send her. Although Zheng Weiqian wants to keep his distance from her, he still had no choice but to send her back.

In the car, Zheng Weiqian stared straight ahead as he carefully drove. Next to him, Fang Yan, who noticed his alienation, turned and look out the window. Although she doesn’t know why he is acting this way, her pride kept her from asking him.

“I didn’t know Granny invited you so I didn’t offer you a ride.” Perhaps he couldn’t stand the silence, Zheng Weiqian suddenly spoke up.

“It’s ok, I didn’t even think about taking your car.” Being very prideful, even though she originally wanted to take his car, Fang Yan wouldn’t admit it.

Zheng Weiqian glanced at her and didn’t say anything as he arrived at her front door.

Fang Yan courteously thanked him and turned around. When she turned around, Fang Yan felt some sourness in her heart and wanted to cry.

Zheng Weiqian watch her walk in and sat there for a while before driving away.
