Precisely In Love With You: Chapter 33

Even Fang Yan herself couldn’t figure out what type of relationship she has with Zheng Weiqian. They are not lovers, but would often eat together and then send her home. He never said anything about pursuing her of what their relationship is. Oh, wrong, he did talk about it when that incident in the newspaper broke out. However, that could be considered a joke, or at least, that is how Fang Yan saw it.

“Yanyan, let me borrow the reports that you got this morning.” Yu Weiya shouted without looking up.

Fang Yan continued to look at the computer screen, her hands still rested on the keyboard, lost in thought.

When she didn’t reply, Yu Weiya looked up to find her mindlessly staring at the screen, carrying a trace of a smile.

“Hey, hey!!” Yu Weiya shook her back to reality.

“Huh?” Fang Yan recovered her senses and looked at Yu Weiya strangely. She awkwardly laughed and asked, “What?”

“Fang Yan, tell me the truth. Are you hiding something from me?” Yu Weiya’s eyes had some malicious intent, her smile seemed very ambiguous.

Fang Yan had a bad premonition and guiltily said, “N-no! I’m not hiding anything from you.”

“Where do you go after work? You always disappear right when we get off work. Also, from time to time you would giggle during working hours. Are you in love?” She is never wrong about this type of dealing.

“H-how is that possible.” Fang Yan choked on her own saliva.

“Really?” Yu Weiya doesn’t believe her.

“Really.” Afraid that she would ask more questions, Fang Yan found an excuse to escape, “I have to use the restroom.”

As Yu Weiya watched her fleeing back, she realized that she hasn’t asked for the reports that she urgently needs. Before she could do so, Fang Yan had already left the office.

Love? Could she even relate to this word? Fang Yan admits that she has good feelings towards Zheng Weiqian, but it is only like, not love.

Given her mother’s relationship, she doesn’t believe in love. Even though she resisted, Zheng Weiqian has this unexplainable attraction that makes her walk step by step towards him. She cared about his attitude towards her and felt inexplicably sour whenever she seed him with someone else. Is this love? Fang Yan doesn’t know.

After washing her hands, Fang Yan walked out of the restroom. She shook her head, intending not to think more about this irritating problem. Before she even reached the office, she saw a man and a woman embracing each other in the middle of the hallway but not too intimately. The man’s back was facing her as he held the woman’s face. The woman’s eyes were focused on the man, her hands holding his waist. This posture is clearly telling others that they are doing some “good deed.” Fang Yan never thought that she would encounter such romantic scene. But what’s more surprising is that the man turned out to be Zheng Weiqian, the same man who, before today, would invite her out to eat and then send her home every day, and the woman is his rumored girlfriend––Lin Xuanxuan.

Fang Yan retreated to the side of the staircase, her mind blank. She finds herself to be a fool to think that they had some sort of relationship a while ago and then was hit hard with reality in the next moment. In fact, he didn’t say that there was something going on between them she just mistakenly thought there was. This couldn’t be blamed on others but herself. She’s past age of wishful thinking, is she not? Fang Yan laughed at herself.

A salty taste entered her mouth. There was only a slight hint of bitterness but she was able to taste it. Fang Yan wiped away the tears that she did not know when had fallen as she smiled bitterly.

When she steps away from the stairs, the man and woman are already gone. Fang Yan composed herself and walked into the office.

Zheng Weiqian doesn’t know where the problem lies. It was going well before but all of a sudden, it changed again, no reason, no explanation. Maybe towards Fang Yan, he never understood her or even entered her heart at all which is why she always seemed uncertain.

These few days, he would invite her out to eat only to be turned down with some very reasonable reasons, her tone unusually cold. Sometimes, she doesn’t even pick up his call. He thought that he was getting along with her pretty well, he didn’t even offend her. Why did everything suddenly change? Is it as the old saying says–––– “Women are fickle creatures.”

When he called her a moment ago, she used the same rotten excuse again. Fed up, Zheng Weiqian decided to talk to her and clearly explain that subject which he thought he didn’t need to explain.

When Fang Yan walked home alone, it isn’t very late. There are still many passers-by on both sides of the street. Some of them were couples walking on this not very busy street under the starlight. Some were old couples coming out to take a stroll after dinner and some were children playing around. Fang Yan walked amongst them, feeling the liveliness around her, ridding of the loneliness and emptiness within her.

Zheng Weiqian looked at his side mirror and saw the woman returning. When she reached his side, Zheng Weiqian opened the car door and stood directly in front of her.

Fang Yan didn’t think that he would wait for her here. She had been dodging him these few days because she did want to see him but what she didn’t expect was that she would see him today.

“You’re avoiding me.” Zheng Weiqian was sure of that. She was too obvious. He is not a fool so naturally, he would notice it.

Fang Yan froze and then said, “I don’t know what you mean, president.” Fang Yan clearly indicated that their relationship was of a superior and subordinate.

“Let’s go up, we need to talk.” Zheng Weiqian doesn’t think that the streets are a good place to talk.

“No need, if you have anything to say, say it here.” Fang Yan’s hair was thrown in disorder by the wind, her tone cold.

Zheng Weiqian stared at her for a long time and compromised, “I don’t know what I did wrong again.” He had been racking his brain over it but he didn’t know where he had provoked this Young Miss.

“I’m just a small office worker, how would I know what problem you are facing. What did you do wrong again?” Fang Yan carried a smile on her face but her tone is very alienated.

“Damn, do you have to talk to me this way?” Zheng Weiqian roared, he couldn’t stand her estrangement.

“What did I say wrong? President.” Fang Yan asked innocently.

“Before we were still very good, how did it become like this? Was I not obvious enough before?” Zheng Weiqian grasped her shoulders.

“I don’t know what you’re saying.” Fang Yan pushed away the hands on her shoulders, “If you don’t have anything to say, I’ll go first. “ She walked straight past him.

“Don’t tell me you didn’t know I was courting you.” Zheng Weiqian shouted at her back.

Fang Yan paused and ruthlessly said, “I don’t care about your feeling.” She walked away without even looking back.
