Yu Wan walked out of the plane cabin carrying a small bag over her shoulder. Feeling the temperature drop a few degrees, she gathered her coat around her body and took out her phone from her bag. She turned it on and gave her best friend, Zhou Xiaoning, a call.
“Ningning, I’m back!”
After blanking out for a second, Zhou Xiaoning became more excited than her, “You're in A City?!”
“Yes, just got off the plane.”
“Why didn’t you inform me beforehand, I could’ve picked you up from the airport!”
“It’s fine, I’ve already sent everything from my hometown over before I boarded. I only have a suitcase with me.”
“Oh, that’s good.” Zhou Xiaoning responded and curiously asked, “How’s your WC curriculum or whatever…..”
Yu Wan raised the corner of her lips and corrected, “It’s CWP, certified wedding planner!”
“Oh, oh, I was close. Did you pass?”
“Of course, I already got my certificate!”
“Congratulations! I have to work overtime today so I’ll schedule another time to treat you to dinner and celebrate!”
Yu Wan laughed, “I should treat you instead. Besides, it was troublesome for you to help me renovate my house.”
“No trouble at all. The project manager was quite handsome.”
Yu Wan chuckled and heard Zhou Xiaoning ask, “Right, do you remember where your house is? You haven’t been to A City in three years.
“.....Don’t worry, I still remember where my house is.”
“A City has changed a lot these past three years though.”
Yu Wan smiled and sped up her pace, “En, I will take a good look around the city."
On the way to the baggage claim, Yu Wan carefully surveyed the surrounding area and accidentally caught sight of a handsome man printed on the airport billboard. Yu Wan blanked and her eyes changed. Then, as if she is trying to avoid something, she kept her eyes down and quickened her pace even faster.
After getting her suitcase, she began to line up for the customs clearance. Something must have happened at the front of the line for there is a small commotion. Curious, Yu Wan stretched her neck out to look at the front but couldn’t spot anything.
“What happened up there? Is there a celebrity up in the front?”
A few subtle conversations floated in her ear. In a place like an airport, it is not surprising to bump into a few stars.
Another voice replied, “No, it seems that one of the customs officers resembles Li Shen and two girls want to take a photo with him!”
When the words came out, their voices grew louder. Yu Wan subconsciously pursed her lips and didn’t join in the conversation. Who knows what happened to the girls who want to take photos but the line quickly moved again. Just, every traveler who passed by this customs officer would give him a second glance.
Yu Wan pulled her hat down and buried her head to her chin like she is the only one who is not interested in this customs officer. When it was her turn, she quietly handed over her passport. After the customs officer greeted her, he said, “Can you take off your hat for a moment?”
“.....” Yu Wan was a little nervous and hesitated before taking off her hat. The moment her hat came off, her eyes met the custom officer's eyes. His face doesn’t really resemble Li Shen, it's just the eyes that are very similar. At the thought of those beautiful eyes, her gaze was filled with inexhaustible tenderness.
With her heart beating profusely, she felt like she is about to burst. Fortunately, the customs officer handed back her passport just in time, “Thank you.”
Yu Wan took back her passport, put on her hat, and fled the scene. Only after she stepped onto the airport subway did she let out a breath.
The TV in the subway is playing some music show. The young host introduced articulately, “Li Shen, the champion of this year’s 《Heavenly Voice》. After singing 《Lily》 almost all the girls in the country wants to change their English name to Lily…..”
Yu Wan’s eyes jumped. She lowered her head and opened Weibo on her phone.
The very first advertisement that popped up right after she opened Weibo is a promotion of Li Shen’s new song. On the bottom of the handsome photo are two lines of eye-catching words––– Li Shen 《Heartstring》Available on all major music platforms on January 1!
Yu Wan, “.....”
She locked her phone and put it in her coat pocket.
She only went abroad to study for three months. Why is the world all about Li Shen???
She simply put on her headphones, leaned back in her seat, and closed her eyes. After the airport subway arrived at the station, Yu Wan transferred to the seventh line. After swaying for over twenty minutes, an electronic female voice sounded in the compartment, “We’ve arrived at Lize Park. Please exit toward the left side of the station.”
Hearing Lize Park, Yu Wan subconsciously looked up. She got up and dragged her suitcase out of the station.
Near the end of December, the temperature of A City dropped to almost zero. Yu Wan braced the cold wind and crossed the street to stand at the east entrance of Lize Park. As if she suddenly thought of something, her grip holding the suitcase tightened. Finally, she smiled and stepped through the entrance.
There are not many visitors going to the park during the winter. Yu Wan walked through the bridge above the lake and listen to the street performer strumming his guitar as he sang under the tree, “People who don’t experience the baptism of tears will not grow up……”
She flipped through her pockets and gave all her change to the singer.
Coming out from the west entrance and one street down is Yu Wan’s home. From the time she bought the house till now, this is the first time she came to see it. It is next to Lize Park so standing on top of the balcony in her new home, one can overlook the entire park. Before the completion of Starlight Park, this is the most famous park in A City.
After she entered her apartment building in the neighborhood, she stared at the newly installed keypad of her front door and enter her birthday. As Zhou Xiaoning said, the door unlocked smoothly. The house has just been renovated but there wasn’t any pungent smell in the air. The luggage that Yu Wan sent over from her hometown is neatly placed in the living room.
She looked around her new 100 square meter home and started to unpack. Halfway through, her boss Wei Shao called, “Are you home?”
“Yes, boss.” Yu Wan answered seriously.
Wei Shao laughed, “You just came back, rest first. You can report to work tomorrow.”
“Yes, boss.”
“Will you be able to find the company?”
“.....” Why does everyone think just because she has been away from A City for a few years she has some mental deficiency? “Boss, as long as I know the company address, I have a hundred ways to get to the company.”
Wei Shao chuckled again, “Oh, then I will wait for you at the company. Rest early.”
Yu Wan followed her boss’s instructions and slept before ten. Early the next morning, she put on a thermal sweater, a pair of trousers, and a small suit jacket. To pair it off, she also put on a long coat and carried a large purse before walking out the door.
The company is located in the Lize Park area. It took less than half an hour by subway for Yu Wan to arrive at the office. After she found the name “Shaohua Wedding Planning” on the floor directory in the building lobby, Yu Wan went straight to the 21st floor. It is not the peak of wedding season but because the company headquarters moved from C City, everyone is busy, including Yu Wan. After a morning meeting with Wei Shao, Yu Wan didn’t even have time to familiarize herself with the new office before heading out the door.
Right as she put on her coat and got up from her set, a girl caught up to her and walked beside her, “Hello Teacher Yu, President Wei had me bring the initial planning report for you to look at.”
Yu Wan cast a sideways glance at the girl. She looks fairly young in her early twenties. She took the documents from the girl’s hand never faltering her steps, “I hear from President Wei you are a new trainee?”
“Yes, my name is Tu Jiajia. President Wei wants me to shadow you first!” Tu Jiajia put on a particularly bright smile, “You can also call me by my English name, Lily!”
Yu Wan paused and looked at Tu Jiajia more closely. She now believes that what the music show host said on the subway was true. At present, half of the girls in the country are named Lily.”
She didn’t concern herself more about that name. As she walks out of the company, she lowered her head and quickly browsed through the report that Tu Jiajia gave her. This wedding is supervised by another colleague. Wei Shao allowing a rookie plan this is to allow her to have on-hand practice. Yu Wan matched her voice to the speed of her pace, “Sima Xiaoxiao’s 《You&Me》is indeed one of the most popular wedding songs but don’t you know that the bride does not like Sima Xiaoxiao?”
Tu Jiajia blanked, “I didn’t hear the bride say it before.”
"What you have to do is not wait for the bride to tell you, but to take the initiative to understand her likes and dislikes."
“Oh, understood….”
“The wedding is a highway theme?”
“Yes, the newlyweds said it is because they met when their car broke down on the road so they want to use the highway as the theme.”
“En, the decorative license plate on the wall is particularly bright but the aisle looks plain compared to it. There are no decorative elements at all.”

“If it were me, I would put street signs on both sides of the aisle and write the distance from the altar. Then I would decorate it with the flowers that go with the theme.”
Tu Jiajia’s eyes brightened when she heard this, “That’s great! I will remember it!”
Yu Wan didn’t give her time to write it down and continued, “There is no need to use a spotlight here, the ground light can show the effect very well.”

Yu Wan handed documents back to Tu Jiajia and pressed the elevator button, “Revise the proposal. Wedding planning isn’t only about planning, you have to understand everything from marketing, layout, lighting, flower arrangements, and dessert tables.
“Oh….” Tu Jiajia felt her head getting bigger, “Does Teacher Yu have any book recommendations for me to look into?”
The elevator door opened and Yu Wan walked in. She turned around and said to Tu Jiajia, “I’ll send you a list of books later.”
“Okay, thank you, Teacher Yu!”
The elevator door closed as Tu Jiajia said this.
Yu Wan ran around for an entire day. When she returned to the company, there is hardly anyone still around. She finished up all the work she had to do and didn’t forget to send the book list to Tu Jiajia’s mailbox. On her way out, she bumped into Wei Shao. He seemed to have been waiting for her there. Yu Wan cleared her throat and went up to him, “Boss, you haven’t left yet?”
Wei Shao smiled and said, “Let’s go together?”
Yu Wan had once stayed in A City for more than a year and is familiar with the area. She thought about the location of Wei Shao’s house and said, “We don’t seem to be going the same way.”
Wei Shao smiled and straightened up as he walked to the elevator, “Let’s go, I’ll send you.”
Yu Wan got into her boss’s car. On the way, Wei Shao played some soothing music and randomly asked, “So, how’s your first day at the new office? Are you accustomed to it?”
Yu Wan answered honestly, “There is no time to think whether I am accustomed to it or not on the first day at the new office.”
Wei Shao laughed, “This period will be hard. After it passes, it will continue to be busy.”
“....” Did the boss just tell a joke? Should she laugh?
“Right, you should also attend tomorrow’s wedding.”
The wedding Wei Shao is talking about is the first job Shaohua Wedding Planning picked up after moving its headquarters to A City. One of the newlyweds is a friend of Wei Shao's as well as a senior executive of an entertainment company.
“Is it that Manager Guo of Xingyao Entertainment?” Because Yu Wan studied abroad for the past few months, she didn’t know much about the wedding.
Wei Shao nodded and said, “Yes, Xingyao Entertainment is a big company. A popular up-and-rising singer, Li Shen, has also joined their company.”
