Li Shen found the words “Mr. Li” particularly harsh to the ears.

He held back the ridiculing smile playing on his lips and silently studied Yu Wan.

For the wedding tonight, her dress and makeup are carefully prepared. Wearing a vintage dark green dress, she looked elegant and graceful yet not too eye-catching. The colorful printed silk scarf tied around her waist was a perfect finishing touch to the outfit. The black high heels she is wearing is from the brand she always liked but couldn’t afford. Now that she is wearing it on her feet, it surprisingly fits her.

The most important thing that Li Shen noticed is her hair. Yu Wan used to keep her black hair natural and long. Now she not only cut her hair into a long bob, but she also dyed it a light coffee color. The hair on her right side is gathered behind her ear, revealing a pearl stud earring.

Everyone’s eyes are focused on Li Shen, who hasn’t said anything in a while. Li Shen finally smiled and looked down at the hand still raised in front of him, “Hello, Miss Yu.”

The two clasped hands for a moment before quickly letting go, not giving time for them to sense each other’s temperature.

Yu Wan still kept a smile on her face and didn’t say anything. The topic switched to something else and no one bothered more about this episode.

“President Wei, the newlyweds are looking for you.” The wedding host anxiously came over and pressingly urged Wei Shao to go with him. Wei Shao thought for a moment and turned to face Zhao Xin and Yu Wan, “Zhao Xin, come with me to look for the newlyweds. Yu Wan, you stay here and talk to Director Hu.”

Yu Wan knows he wants her to grab Director Hu’s daughter’s wedding so even though she wants to go with him instead, she still nodded, “Don’t worry boss.”

Wei Shao always feels reassured with Yu Wan. He didn’t need to explain anything and took Zhao Xin with him. Yu Wan deliberately avoided looking at Li Shen and concentrated on talking to Director Hu. But obviously, many people in the venue here wants to talk to Director Hu.

They didn’t get to say a few words before Director Hu who pulled Wu Mian along with him was called away by another person. It was only after that Yu Wan discovered she and Li Shen are the only two people standing there. Li Shen, with a glass in his hand, looked at her. When Yu Wan felt his gaze on her, her heart started beating uncontrollably. She licked her lips and wants to find an excuse to leave when Li Shen suddenly opened his mouth, “You cut your hair?”

Yu Wan froze. She thought that he might ignore her or even mock her. She never thought he would ask this.

She nodded, “En, it is easier to manage.”

Li Shen chuckled and glanced at her bangs, “It must be difficult to curl your bangs.”

Yu Wan retorted, “It should be easier to manage than yours.”

After she said this, Yu Wan became a little frantic. Why is she standing here talking about bangs with Li Shen???

“Sorry, I have something to discuss with Director Hu.” Yu Wan saw that Director Hu is almost done with his conversation and want to make use of the moment to talk to him. Li Shen didn’t chase after her. He raised his glass and downed the entire drink.

Zhao Xin, who followed Wei Shao, hurriedly handle the matter with the newlyweds and ran out to find Li Shen. The result is she couldn’t find Li Shen but instead found Yu Wan standing alone in the corner eating. She walked over and asked, “Where’s Li Shen? How come you’re standing here alone again?”

Yu Wan shrugged and didn’t reply. Zhao Xin also picked up a piece of cake and asked, “How was your talk with Director Hu?”

Yu Wan sighed, “Director Hu said, it is his daughter getting married, not him. It only matters if his daughter likes it. He said he would recommend our company to Miss Hu but in the end, it would be Miss Hu’s decision on who to pick.”

Zhao Xin made a sound of acknowledgment, “I heard from the boss that this Miss Hu is particularly difficult.”

Yu Wan smiled bitterly, “There’s no other way. Even if she is difficult, I still have to keep in line.”

Zhao Xin sympathetically patted her shoulder, “Come, eat some ice cream. This one is really delicious.”

Yu Wan took the ice cream from her hand and heard a cheer coming from a round table not far away. Zhao Xin curiously looked over and asked, “What game are they playing over there?”

Yu Wan shook her head, “Don’t know.”

“Let’s go see!”

Zhao Xin pulled Yu Wan over to watch the fun. She originally thought they were playing some fun wedding games but it turns out they are arm wrestling. To Zhao Xin, this seems like a childish game but at this time, the person sitting at the table is Li Shen so she immediately became enthusiastic.

“Not bad, Li Shen. Being a soldier for two years sure is different.” Wu Mian, who had just lost to Li Shen, stood up and said. Yu Wan who was standing to the side fell into a daze when she heard this. Li Shen was a soldier for two years? Hasn’t he always been making music?

“Let me try. I don’t believe he can win.” A man who looked more robust than Li Shen walked over and sat in front of him. When Zhao Xin saw, she immediately jumped out to defend her idol, “It isn’t fair letting him challenge you all one after another! You should let him rest first!”

Wu Mian looked at her and jokingly smiled, “Li Shen’s fan is heartbroken. It looks as if we are bullying him.”

…...You are bullying him. Zhao Xin thought so but didn’t voice it out loud. Instead, she silently cheered on Li Shen. Li Shen didn’t mind and smiled. He raised his arm and gripped his opponent’s hand.

The people around the table were silent, watching them with close concentration. The robust man obviously felt this is a game of honor and used up all of his strength. Yu Wan clearly saw a blue vein pop out from his forehead. She looked at Li Shen again. Compared to his challenger, Li Shen looked to be calmer but he wasn’t at ease. The layer of sweat that oozes from the corner of his lips and forehead did not escape Yu Wan’s eyes.

His elegant white suit was stretched taut against his body, outlining his muscles and strength. Yu Wan never thought under the white suit there was such amazing power.

Just like how she never thought Li Shen would be a soldier for two years.

Maybe because of the few rounds he played ahead of time, Li Shen was at a bit of a disadvantage. His strength was gradually suppressed by his opponent. The back of his hand is getting closer and closer to the table.

When Li Shen saw that he was about to lose, he suddenly exerted more strength and reversed the situation. Before anyone can react, his opponent’s hand hit the table.

Zhao Xin yelped in excitement and clapped furiously. From today on, she has a new understanding of Li Shen–– a man who never lost at arm-wrestling.

Even if she only saw him play two rounds.

Yu Wan’s heart also fell back in her chest. After she has loosened up, she felt it was a bit funny. It is a harmless game, it doesn’t matter whether one wins or lose but everyone was caught up in the moment.

The person who lost to Li Shen felt ashamed and wanted one more match with Li Shen. Li Shen smiled and gave up his seat to someone else, “I’m tired, you guys go ahead.”

Someone immediately filled his seat the moment he got up and started another match. Yu Wan didn’t pay attention to the match. Li Shen followed Wu Mian out of the crowd and spotted Yu Wan standing to the side.

He knew Yu Wan was standing there earlier. Even if his back was facing her, he knew she was watching him.

He inadvertently saw the ice cream in her hand and couldn’t help but blurt out, “You can’t each such cold food.”

A few people fell silent from his words. This is the first time Li Shen frowned this evening.

Zhao Xin stared at Yu Wan ignorantly. Yu Wan’s hand holding the ice cream slightly tightened, her heart in disarray.

“I’m going to the bar to sit. You guys talk.” Li Shen didn’t explain anything and quickly retreated away. Wu Mian also excused himself from Yu Wan and Zhao Xin and followed Li Shen to the bar.

“Yu Wan, was Li Shen talking to you just now?” Zhao Xin who had just returned to her senses looked at Yu Wan quizzically.

Yu Wan laughed hehe and said, “No way, I can eat this.” As if to confirm her own words, she put a large spoonful of ice cream into her mouth. “Look, the venue is so warm, it is good to eat some ice cream.”

Zhao Xin looked very confused, “Then what was Li Shen saying earlier?”

“I’m not sure, haha.” Yu Wan, afraid that Zhao Xin would ask endless questions later, quickly put the ice cream to the side and walk to the opposite direction of the bar, “I have to talk to the boss about work. You take your time eating.”

Zhao Xin who was left alone still hasn’t recovered from her daze. What is with her male idol? Could it be he knows she is approaching her menstrual cycle and is warning her not to eat too much cold food? But how would he know about her menstrual cycle? Zhao Xin’s mind is in a mess.

At the bar counter, Li Shen ordered a beer for himself. He was about to put the glass to his mouth when a hand pressed him down, “Big star, you have to drive later, you can’t drink.”

Li Shen’s furrowed brows deepened. He was silent for a moment and still put down the beer. Wu Mian pulled out the stool next to him and sat down. He turned to the bartender, “Get me a glass of plain water.”

“I want a soda.” Li Shen responded.

Wu Mian smiled and turned to him, “Aren’t you angry right now? And you still want to drink soda?”

Li Shen swept his eyes over and stared at him deeply. Wu Mian can only surrender under his gaze, “Get him a glass of soda. Don’t add alcohol.”

Li Shen’s drink arrived very soon. He downed the entire content of the cup in one go as if he is trying to vent something. Wu Mian waited for him to put the cup down and smiled, “Are you feeling better now?”

Li Shen didn’t say anything but Wu Mian didn’t intend to let him off, “What’s happened to you? Do you and Miss Yu know each other?”

Li Shen clasped his hands on top of the bar table and sneered in his heart.

Not only do he and Miss Yu know each other, but he is also her ex-boyfriend.
