I Want to Waste Away Time With You: Chapter 9

While Lu Wei Xi stood by the counter waiting for her hot chocolate, her brain is at work trying to find a way to “accidentally” meet and greet him.

“Hi, Jian Chi. What a coincidence to see you here again.” …..Is it too obvious?

"Hey, you are here too."... Is it too bold?

She was able to come up with thousands of scenarios in her head but when she got her hot chocolate and left the counter, she hadn’t thought of a proper one. 

What to do… is she just going to brush past him like this? But, she doesn’t have to courage to go up and talk to him T^T 

Lu Wei Xi nervously held the hot chocolate in her hand and walked past him. She couldn’t help but mused in her heart how great it would be if he were to open his mouth at this time.

The result is, in the next second, don't know if her wish was too strong but he really did call out to her.

When the cold, familiar voice sounded in front of her, calm and silk-like, she felt like she was in a dream she didn't want to wake up from. It sounds so nice...it almost makes her want to cry. 

“Why did you only come now?”

Lu Wei Xi stood in front of him as if she was struck by a hundred lightning bolts at the same time. Her hand shook, almost dropping the hot and fragrant hot chocolate in her hand. 

Did she hear wrong? Or...is he calling someone else?

Lu Wei Xi turned her neck to look at her surroundings and confirmed that there was no one walking around her. Trembling, she raised her hand and pointed at herself, “Are you talking to me?”

“Besides you, who else is here?”

He looked up, the ends of his eyes slightly raised as he deeply looked at her with an unclear meaning. Jian Chi raised his brows.

Every move of this man….looked attractive in her eyes.

“Ah Chi, who is this girl?”

Suddenly an unknown voice broke the silence. That voice is filled with doubt and alertness. Lu Wei Xi looked in the direction of the voice and discovered that another person was sitting across from him.

It’s a girl, moreover, it is a very beautiful girl. 

Lu Wei Xi knows this girl. She is the department beauty of the law department, Xu Qu Qing. Based on appearance, she is not in the same league as Cheng Si Ran, but based on her family background, it cannot be compared to the people on the streets. 

But… why is she here? 

Xu Qu Qing looked her up and down in disdain as if she didn’t put her in her eyes. She returned her attention back to Jian Chi, “Ah Chi, how long do you plan on staying in China?”

Jian Chi didn’t answer and just turned to Lu Wei Xi who was dumbly standing there. He nodded his head and asked coldly, "Do you have business here?"

Bewitched by his voice, Lu Wei Xi looked at him starstruck and honestly shook her head. She suddenly felt that the situation was not right and quickly nodded her head.  

He ignored her nod and said, “Since you don’t have any matter, I’ll send you back.”

"Ah? This... there’s no need." Lu Wei Xi didn’t expect him to suddenly say this. She snuck a peek at Xu Qu Qing and noticed her chilly expression for she quickly refused.

"I didn't ask for your opinion, this is a statement."

Jian Chi raised his brows. His tone was very light but there is an unlying hardness within it.

When his words fell, Lu Wei Xi could clearly feel her skin, all the way from the neck to the root of the ear turning red. Her brain was a bit dizzy and couldn’t process what was happening at the moment. At the side, Xu Qu Qing couldn’t sit still any longer.

“Ah Chi, it was uncle and auntie who told me to come to see you. You’re just going to leave me here and leave with her?” Her voice trembled while she looked incredulously at Jian Chi. Even the delicate and colorful makeup has become a bit distorted. 

He expressionlessly stood up from his seat. His voice was as cold as the ice at the top of Mount Tian, “You’ve already seen me. Can I go now?” 

“......”

Lu Wei Xi stood to the side silently listening and secretly thought in her heart, Jian Chi’s attitude toward herself was already good enough. En, she should feel satisfied.

Ignoring Xu Qu Qing’s cold glare, she quietly followed Jian Chi and walked out of the Starbucks.

The two people, one in the front, one following behind, quietly walked down the street.

Although it snowed today, the weather is unusually sunny. The sun shined gently through the clouds and although it didn't bring much warmth, looking at the back of that man who is bathed in the sun, Lu Wei Xi was dazzled by the sight.

While she is foolishly staring at Jian Chi’s back, the phone in her jacket suddenly rings. 

The world is falling in love, an arrow of light striking their chests, I want to understand you…..

When the familiar ringtone reached her ears, Lu Wei Xi’s brain crashed. Then she quickly reached out and took the phone out of her pocket with lightning speed. After glancing at the caller ID, she quickly declined the call.

It was from Xia Nuan….she must be calling to ask about her situation so she decided not to pick up the call. What’s more important now is she doesn’t want the other party to find out that she recorded her own voice for her ringtone. It is simply too shameful…..

The song is called “The World Has Fallen In Love*” and out of all her recordings, it is the song that she was the most satisfied with. When she first set this song as her ringtone, she was very satisfied with it. But now...Lu Wei Xi looked at Jian Chi’s back and her mind turned over and over again. In the end, only one phrase came in her mind: Displaying ones slight skill before an expert.

After listening to him sing, she really felt that her voice is lacking in comparison.
