Jian Chi pulls out the seat for her to sit down before sitting in the chair next to her. When his parents weren’t paying attention, he lowered his head and whispered in her ears, “Still nervous?”
Lu Wei Xi honestly replied, “No, Uncle and Auntie are very good people.” She looked around the garden and sighed, “With such romantic parents, how come it has no influence on you at all?”
“What can be considered romantic?” He modestly asked.
Lu Wei Xi thought about it for a moment before she certainly replied, “At least…..send me a bouquet of flowers every day, tell me that you love me every day and send me a good night message every day before going to bed. See, isn’t that simple?”
Jian Chi disdainfully snorted, “It sounds stupid.”
Speechless, Lu Wei Xi couldn’t help but think to herself, What can she do, he’s dense enough to ask his mom which outfit looks good on his girlfriend.
She once again realized that talking to Jian Chi about romance is a waste of breath.
This meal can be compared to a luxurious imperial feast. It simply tastes like a five-star cuisine. For once, Lu Wei Xi finished a full bowl of rice.
Next to her, seeing as she is innocently eating, Jian Chi couldn’t help but ask, “How is it?”
“En, super delicious.”
Lu Wei Xi wiped her mouth with a napkin and as she turned, she caught a glimpse of Jian Chi’s expression. She quickly added, “But it is not as good as yours.”
His expression relaxed.
After the meal, Ye Lan borrowed the afternoon sun and looked Lu Wei Xi up and down, pleased with what she saw, “I know that this outfit would look good on you. At that time when Ah Chi showed me the picture, I can tell with just a glance.”
Cough.....nevertheless, they still talked about this embarrassing topic.
However, when she thought of how Jian Chi’s father specifically wore this tunic suit to welcome her, Lu Wei Xi felt that there is nothing wrong with buying clothes for the occasion.
Ye Lan saw the changing expressions on her face and softly smiled, “Wei Xi, you should come and spend more time with us. The next time you come, I will take you to make a cheongsam. Rui Yixiang recently has some new fabric in the store, it will definitely look good on you.”
Moved, Lu Wei Xi looked up at her and bluntly replied, “Jian Chi and I will definitely come more often to visit you.”
Parents would definitely want to see their children more often.
In the end, lunch ended in a harmonious atmosphere.
Lu Wei Xi stood up, planning to help clean up, but was pulled away by Ye Lan.
She nervously followed Ye Lan upstairs and soon found herself in Jian Chi’s bedroom.
She looked around and found that the room is all in simple black and white.
The wall is filled with various awards and the table is full of trophies. Lu Wei Xi took a look at it and found that all of these are from various competitions: International Chemistry Competition, American Invitational Mathematics Examination, County High School Swimming Competition, as well as countless gold awards for both domestic and international interior design competitions. It once again made her feel how exceptional Jian Chi is.
It is only natural that he exudes an air of inner pride and arrogance.
Even though a long time has passed, all the trophies and awards still look clean and shiny. It must be because Ye Lan often wipes them clean.
Ye Lan stood by her side and look up at the wall of awards as well as she recalled, “When he was young, Ah Chi never really liked to talk or interact with anyone. It seems that to him, everyone is an idiot. I used to worry that he will not have any friends.” She smiled, her expression softening, “But to my surprise, ever since he was young, there are many people his age willing to hang out with him. Although he would always reject them, there is never a shortage of friends around.”
“Perhaps it’s because….he is already so splendid that people are unable to be jealous of him and could only stay close to him.”
Lu Wei Xi murmured, as she touched the white photo frame on the table.
In the photo, Jian Chi is wearing is gray graduation robe standing in front of a green background with a light smile playing on his lips. The smile made his entire person seem proud and calm, his eyes filled with enthusiasm.
When Ye Lan saw her look at the picture with adoring eyes, she couldn’t help but show some pride, “My son had always been good with everything ever since he was young. Besides his personal feelings, I never cared about anything else he did. But….now that he has you, he can settle down now.”
She walked over and took Lu Wei Xi's hand as she said with sincerity, “Wei Xi, you don’t know how much I should thank you, you helped me solve the most difficult problem in my life.”
When Lu Wei Xi heard her say this, she looked down in embarrassment and don't how to answer. Ye Lan took it as her being shy and intimately took her hand as she told her of some interesting stores of Jian Chi when he was little, from how he would publicly point out a mistake the teacher made in front of the class, how he would finish his exams early and take a nap, how he stepped in as a substitute when a teammate was absent and beat the rival school at a basketball game…..
