While the ladies were chatting, in the study next door, Jian Chi was pressed into playing chess with Jian An Yi.
Chess is one of the hobbies that Jian An Yi retained over the years. Although he is the deputy mayor of T City, he had been on the battlefield since young, so this job is considered relatively easier.
It is no exaggeration to say that Jian An Yi is an expert in chess. When he found that there is no one around him that can beat him, he turned to his son.
So, ever since he was in junior high, Jian Chi was forced to play chess.
The father and son would only appear joyous and harmonious when they are playing chess. The rest of the time, because they are busy with their own affairs, they never talk to each other at all.
After Ye Lan takes Lu Wei Xi out of the bedroom, she saw that the study is half-open.
With a smile, Ye Lan stood by the door and lowered her voice to ask Lu Wei Xi, “Wei Xi, who do you think will win this game?”
Lu Wei Xi followed Ye Lan’s line of sight, perplexed. She simply doesn’t know how to play chess at all and of the two people inside, one is her boyfriend and the other is her boyfriend’s father. This time….whoever she says will win, it is not appropriate.
This question is like her asking Jian Chi, “Your mother and I fell into the water. Who will you rescue first?”
After having a fierce internal battle with herself, Lu Wei Xi decided to betray her boyfriend, “I think….uncle will win.”
Ye Lan nodded, “Yes, he will win, but it isn’t because An Yi is good.”
“Huh? Then….why?”
Ye Lan blinked at her. Her eyes are filled with playful enthusiasm, making her look twenty years younger, “Of course, it’s because Ah Chi let him win. Whenever An Yi loses, he will shut himself in his study and don’t come out for an entire day. He wouldn’t even eat.”
Lu Wei Xi line of sight returned to the frowning man in the study room. He looks very focused on his game.

Sure enough, a few minutes later, Jian Chi put down a black piece and straightforwardly said, “I lost.”
Across from him, Jian An Yi is obviously very happy but on the surface, he put on a calm demeanor, “Young people should not be upset, there is always room for improvement.”

The afternoon sun poured through the window casting a shadow over him. At the moment, they are separated by a wall. Lu Wei Xi looks at him through the crack of the door and felt that she had never seen a warm and docile Jian Chi like now.

After Jian Chi and Lu Wei Xi bid his parents farewell, she had safely made it through the day without any mishap.
After spending almost an entire day at Jian Chi’s house, all her original bearing had vanished into smoke. She could feel the soles of her feet swell from walking in high heels all day. Otherwise, why would it feel so painful when she walks T^T
Afraid that she would ruin her image in front of Jian Chi, Lu Wei Xi could only clench her teeth and try to walk as much as she can up the road.
It wasn’t until she sat in Jian Chi’s car did she release her breath of relief. But soon, another problem arose.
Later, when Jian Chi sends her back to University T, it will take he twenty minutes to walk from the school entrance to the dormitory. In her current state, it is impossible for her to walk to the dorm in high heels.

She doubtfully raised her head and looked around to find that they are in an underground parking lot in a large shopping mall.
Jian Chi turned off the car and asked her as he removes his seat belt, “What size shoes do you wear?”
“Ah?” Lu Wei Xi turned to look at him as if she couldn’t comprehend what he is saying.
The other party only turned to face her and moved his line of sight to the high heel sandals on her feet. He raised an eyebrow and asked, “How long are you going to pretend?”
…...So he already noticed it QAQ
Lu Wei Xi stared at him blankly and replied after a while, “Thir…..thirty six.”
Jian Chi nodded his head and opened the door. After thinking about it, he turned to pat her head, “Be good and wait for me here.”
Lu Wei Xi’s face couldn’t help but redden. She stared at him unblinkingly and obediently nodded.
Jian Chi came back quickly, making Lu Wei Xi suspect that he only picked a random pair of size 36 flats.
He didn’t get in the car but instead, open the door of the passenger seat.
Lu Wei Xi looked up at him and suddenly felt very nervous.
But he still looks cold and indifferent.
He opened the door and ignored Lu Wei Xi’s hand which reached out to grab the box. Jian Chi very quickly knelt down and took out a pair of silver-white sandals from the shoe box.
“Stick your feet out.” He lowered his head and said, his voice unyielding.
Lu Wei Xi stared at him blankly. She doesn’t understand what he is going to do and can only listen to his words and extend her feet.
The man in front of her only lowered his head and didn’t speak. He reached out and carefully helped her remove the high heels on her feet before he replaced it with the sandals he just bought.
With his head lowered, his long eyelashes fanned out, creating a shadow on his face. His movements are very gentle as if he was afraid that he might hurt her.
Heee.. gentleman he is.
