Fang Yan checked Pei Qing’s itinerary for the day. He has a meeting at 10 a.m., at noon, he has a lunch appointment with General Manager Sun of Huaheng Supply Company and in the afternoon, he has to go to the construction site to do an inspection. Unknowingly, she came to Zhiyuan Real Estate for almost a month and was able to adapt fairly quickly. Like Pei Qing said, it isn’t very difficult to be his secretary, what’s important is that there is an assistant beside him.
Before she accepted the job, Fang Yan never thought that one day she would be someone’s secretary but that is what exactly happened. On the seventh day after Pei Qing offered her the job, Fang Yan had been through every place in Beijing and had nowhere else to go. Staying home all day was really boring. Suddenly, she remembered Pei Qing’s proposal from the other day. In fact, the offer wasn’t bad. Fang Yan called him that night and Pei Qing immediately responded. No interviews, no check-up from the HR, she just has to be at her desk the next day.
Fang Yan knocked on the door and entered. Pei Qing stayed buried in his documents and didn’t even look up.
“Director Pei, this is the report that you will need later. Your 10 o’clock meeting will start in ten minutes.”
Pei Qing didn’t even look up and slightly nodded his head, his eyes still focused on the files in front of him.
Seeing as he didn’t say anything, Fang Yan turned to leave when she heard him from behind, “Wait.”
Pei Qing stood up and walked over to her and handed her a file, “Copy down every single data on here. I will need to use it in the meeting later.”
“Okay.” Fang Yan took the data and was about to leave.
“You adapt very well.” Pei Qing said with a slight smile.
Fang Yan playfully turned around, “That’s because I look very smart.” She walked out of the office and earnestly did her work.
Pei Qing looked at her back and his smile widened.
At ten in the evening, Fang Yan was just about to go to bed when she received a call from Pei Qing.
“Fang Yan, pack a suitcase tonight, I will pick you up at 5 a.m.” Pei QIng directly said.
“Huh?” Fang Yan was unable to comprehend what he said. Pack a suitcase? Go where?
“It’s an impromptu decision. Tomorrow you have to go on a business trip with me. Remember to wait by the gates at 5, we have to catch the flight at 6.” Pei Qing slightly explained.
“Where are we going?”
“Shanghai….I have another call coming in, so I’ll leave you to get ready.” Fang Yan hasn’t even finished grasping the situation when he already hung up.
“Shanghai...he just said we’re going to Shanghai tomorrow.” Fang Yan muttered sat on her bed. In fact, she is not ready to go back to Shanghai which is why she is shamefully hiding in Beijing. It doesn’t mean that she doesn’t want to go back to Shanghai, she just doesn't want to go back so quickly. After all, that is where she got hurt. She still remembered the day Yu Weiya told her they got engaged. She really doesn't have the courage to see their sweet affection.
At 4:53 in the morning, Fang Yan stood outside the door with her suitcase. As it is already winter, the sky is still dark so everyone in the household is still resting. Fang Yan didn’t sleep at all last night, considering whether she should go to Shanghai with Pei Qing or not. Only until now did she finally make up her decision and pack her bag. Shanghai isn’t big nor is it small so the probability of them meeting is also very minimal. Besides, this is her job, she must be responsible.
At 4:58, Pei Qing’s car arrived in front of her house. He got off the car and helped put her suitcase in the trunk and then headed straight to the airport.
In the car, Pei Qing simply explained the reason for this trip to Fang Yan. Originally there is a client in Singapore who is very interested in investing in the development project in Chengnan and wanted to cooperate. It’s just that they are at Shanghai at the moment and have not finished some of their work and right afterward, they are going back to Singapore so they don’t have the time to go to Beijing. Because of this, the clients hoped they could send some people over to discuss the cooperation. These days, Pei Qing had been troubled with the community investment funds so now that there is such a good opportunity naturally he would not miss it.
When they arrived at the airport, Pei Qing’s assistant Wei Nan is already waiting for them to enter the boarding gate together.
When they arrived in Shanghai, it is only eight. Because their appointment is at two in the afternoon, Pei Qing decided to go to the hotel to prepare his files. Fang Yan also helped organize the information to save time.
At two in the afternoon, both parties met. Although the time was rushed, with Pei Qing’s careful planning, the meeting went smoothly for both parties. However, because the general manager will come to Shanghai the day after tomorrow, they hoped that Pei QIng could stay in Shanghai for two days to meet their manager directly. Pei Qing immediately agreed and just like this, they stayed in Shanghai for a few days.
Because Pei Qing’s call last night was very late and she also had to go out very early in the morning, she did not have time to talk to her uncle about her business trip. When the meeting was over, Fang Yan gave a call to those in Beijing to explain her situation.
Fang Junxing silently processed what she said, “If your heart feels uncomfortable them come back, I’ll have Fang Rui talk with Director Pei.”
Fang Yan’s eyes glistened with tears. She knows that her uncle is afraid she will feel aggrieved and adjusted her mood, “I won’t, I will be back in a few days.”
Fang Junxing no longer said anything and simply told her to take good care of herself.
In the evening, Fang Yan decided to go back to her apartment and see if there are still some things she still needs to pack up. After all, she does now intend to come back.
